In the Spielberg upgrade package, the Milton Keynes-based outfit has once again modified the floor in the area ahead of the rear wheels. These innovations appear to have been effective, considering Verstappen’s strong performance in the Austrian GP.

We have previously analyzed the Red Bull’s changes implemented in this delicate section of the car. The technicians had significantly reshaped the specification in an attempt to better manage the airflow directed towards the diffuser.

Furthermore, this critical area of the car is also used to “seal” the floor, aiming to maintain the cleanest possible aerodynamic flow.

However, the modifications did not stop there. For the home Grand Prix, further refinements were introduced: the engineers led by Pierre Waché adopted the same technical philosophy, albeit with revised geometries. More rounded leading edges and an additional slot were introduced compared to the previous specification.

The vertical appendage is also retained, though it features revised geometry to adapt to the new fluid management. The collective modifications work to reduce sensitivity to varying ride heights, generating greater aerodynamic stability.
