I believe the 2026 edition of the Miami GP will remain forever etched in my memory. Friday evening, while returning with colleagues and friends from DAZN España, I took a violent fall down the stairs of the press room. From that moment, what could have remained just a bad accident turned into a deeply touching life experience.

The “flight” was very violent, but the rescue team sprang into action instantly. Christine immediately appeared by my side, a true guardian angel who supported me in those very first moments. The organization of the emergency response was fantastic: Egbert Thamm and Brett Brechisen coordinated the operations, promptly alerting the doctors of the Ceccarelli team as well.

Unfortunately, even though I didn’t realize it at the time, it was clear to everyone that I was not in good shape. I was immediately immobilized with a neck brace, and Gregg did something extraordinary: he accompanied me in the ambulance to Jackson Hospital, staying by my side for over two hours.

In this state-of-the-art facility, I underwent a series of scans and X-rays, which revealed a few fractured ribs and a small cerebral hemorrhage. Despite the diagnosis, the doctors and all the staff treated and assisted me in such an exceptional way that they turned a frightening misadventure into an extremely positive human experience. Fortunately, by Sunday at 12:00 PM, the situation was already sorted out.

I want to thank from the bottom of my heart the entire organization of the Media Center and the FIA for their lightning-fast intervention. The attention and humanity shown to me by colleagues and members of the various teams over these days are gifts I will hardly forget.

But Miami is already in the past: on Sunday itself, I even managed to work remotely with Alessandro Arcari, using the photos I had taken on Friday. As I have always done in my life, I look ahead, driven by the iron will to honor my goals and commitments.

With the help of Luca Tameo, who manages my merchandise, I will head towards Paul Ricard for Jean Alesi’s Historic F1 GP in Le Castellet. It will be a wonderful dive into the past: a precious opportunity to embrace old friends in the paddock again, relive the atmosphere of so many unforgettable moments of my career, and go back to photographing those single-seaters from the fax machine era, designed in a hurry I am not stopping. I’ll update you very soon!.
