Another interesting update for the Scuderia involves a refined micro-aerodynamic solution anchored to the Halo’s central strut: two specifically profiled winglets designed to trigger an upwash effect with a dual purpose. They aim to optimize the airbox feeding while simultaneously creating an aero shield that slashes the drag generated by the airflow hitting the driver’s helmet.
FERRARI HITS TROUBLE WHITH THE MACARENA WINGS
The Maranello squad opted to test the Macarena wing during FP1 in China. However, following the initial session, they decided to shelve this configuration. Beyond delivering lower-than-expected straight-line gains, the Macarena wing’s mechanism proved too sluggish given the extensive rotation it requires, severely compromising stability under braking. This triggered the handling issues on the SF-26, prompting the engineers to temporarily sideline the spec.
