In the serious accident at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza in 1978, Ronnie Peterson was not driving his usual Lotus 79 but an old 78. During the warm-up on Sunday morning, as was customary in those years, Ronnie severely damaged his 79 and had to fall back on the spare car, which was the car from the previous year. The drawing shows a cross-section and various details of this car, the Typ78 from the 1977 season.
