In the 2024 season, Red Bull used a compromise layout of the rear wing at Spa and Monza, simply “trimming” the flap to improve top speed. At Silverstone this year, a completely new wing with a straight main plane was introduced. It was supposed to be just a test for Spa, but the team decided to use it with both drivers, hoping for a dry race… A gamble that proved suicidal in the rain.
